A GIN is "Get It Now" for xxx credits.
Sort of like eBay's "Buy it now".
Some people like to to add it as a short-cut to end the auction early if someone is willing to put up "big credits" right away. You usually put a number of credits that you don't really expect anyone to go for, but it let's the big spenders grab it fast.

It also puts a cap on the number of credits that you can get, because if I was looking at getting something, and the bidding was getting close to your GIN, I'd stop bidding, and jump on the GIN.
