Description

The listing, Leonotis menthifolia KLIP DAGGA has ended.

The bright orange flowers are almost fluorescent and bring in hummingbirds and they LOVE these flowers, also song birds will perch on top of pods and sway as the wind blows...very cool to watch! This makes great calming tea and can be smoked. No chemicals have ever been used on these, I don't believe in them when you have other flower/herbal sources that will perform just as well if not better for keeping bugs away.
I'm offering at least 25+ seeds
Very easy to grow but do watch out for the pods, they are very sharp. but the birds really dont mind it
I have grown these in 3" pots and they stay about a foot but grow in soil, and they do not mind poor soil at all or good garden soil, then they can grow up to 8 ft.

Hi Bill, yes it would do well starting them inside then transplant when it's warmer, yours would last longer in your zone. Treat this as an annual for zones 3 to 7, 8 and above it is considered a possible perennial. Start seeds inside, transplant outdoors when all danger of frost is gone. Once established, will withstand some frosts in fall. Mine did very well last fall when temps were in the 20 degree area
