Thai eggplant, as the name suggests, are native to Thailand. Thai eggplants come in lots of shapes, colors and sizes including the small green round eggplants that are commonly sold at specialty grocers. Thai eggplant can also be long and slender as is with Thai purple eggplant, Thai yellow eggplant and Thai white eggplant.

The delicate flavors and tender skin of the Thai eggplant make it a delicacy for eggplant lovers. It looks great in Thai curries and a stir-fry. If you are lucky enough to live in a Mediterranean or tropical climate with long, hot summers, you will have no problem growing Thai eggplant. Tropical climates tend to produce more Thai eggplants per plant.

The most popular Thai eggplant is the Thai green eggplant that produces small, golf ball shaped fruits. They are spectacular in eggplant recipes such as curry dishes such as red and Thai curry, because when quartered and cooked they absorb the flavor of the sauce.

Thai eggplant flowers (both purple and white) are unusually striking and coveted by eggplant growers worldwide. In Thailand, eggplant Thai eggplant has edible flowers which are served in cold vegetable and noodle dishes.

If you’re into companion planting, Thai eggplants grow well with carrots, marigolds and mints, but not well with beans, corn, dill, broccoli and cauliflower.

If you’re into biodynamic farming, (planting by moon the cycles of the moon), then plant Thai eggplant at the quarter moon when above ground plants such as peppers and tomatoes grow better.

Are these spicy compared to regular eggplants? What size is plant and fruit? Sorry for all of these questions, but you have fascinating items, some of which I am unfamiliar with.
Thank you for your time :)

these are kinda different tasting egg plants from the common ones you find in the stores. The egg plants themselves should be picked when they are the size of a baseball or smaller for best taste and easier cooking. google has a lot of info on these plants as well as recipes. :) but they can be left of the vine for longer and will get bigger than an a base ball if you let them.
