It has many uses,like while grooming if your dog is uncooperative and tries to bite at you place it around their neck and it keeps them from being able to bite you,if a dog gets spayed or has other surgery they are used for a period of a week or so to keep the dog from licking or biting their stitches. Also some dogs have allergies and need to wear it for periods of time to`keep them from hurting themselves.
