I think it's just fine to sell for silver value. does not mean you are buying it for silver value. silver value was actually the only reason it was made in the first place. also a lot of new beautiful new silver items are made from old silver coins. and correct, value goes up when less are available. i'd like to have back the mickey mantel cards my mom threw in the landfill !! good luck with your auction !!

silver closed at $35.67 today, wow !! I remember as a kid, my dad complaining that gold was too high, $35/ounce wish he bought say, 100 lbs. !!! I'n not greedy, 100 would do.
