Best picked when 2.5 to 3" long. GARDEN HINTS: Soak seed in warm water overnight to speed germination. Pick pods young, while still tender. Pods are excellent for use in soups, stews and relishes.

Questions & Comments
Original
These are the best okra to me. Last year for the first time I grew 3 to try in one 12" pot. I had okra every day for 1 person. The plants should have been in a 12" pot each to really grow. I had seeds left over and am growing 5 indoors to plant in large pots this year outdoors again. They don't get you itchy like the other types. And, don't let them grow more than 3"-4". They are tougher to chew at that point. They grow colorful blooms after the pod grows-the blooms die-the okra starts to grow and in about 3 days or so is ready to pick. Delicious.
