Summary: "Cast Away" is a story of a man who comes to grip with everyday survival and life in solitude when he is the sole survivor of a plane crash in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Tom Hanks gives a stellar performance as the cast away. The picture quality of the DVD is excellent, and the DTS Extended Surround Discrete 6.1 surround sound is awesome, particularly during the plane crash sequence. The movie is simply captivating and this 2-disc Special Edition DVD definitely hits the mark. Both gets an "emphatic nod" from me.
