DIRECT SEEDING:
Sow 1-2 weeks after last frost when soil is warm, above 70°F (21°C), 3 seeds every 18", 1/2" deep, thinning to 1 plant/spot.
INDOOR SEEDING/TRANSPLANTING:
Sow indoors in late April or up to one month prior to transplanting outdoors. Germinates between 80-90°F (27-32°C). Grow seedlings at 75°F (24°C). Reduce water and temperature for a week before transplanting to harden seedlings. When the weather is frost-free, transplant to 6 inch hills with 3' spacing in rows 6' apart.
HARVEST:
Harvest when tendril closest to the fruit turns brown and dries, at forced-slip stage, or cut from vine.
STORAGE:
Store ripe melons at 45-50°F (7-10°C) and 80% relative humidity up to 2-4 weeks.
