FREE: BOBBY~DVD

We have this movie and it is incredibly good, written and directed by Emilio Estevez and with a supremely good cast - many of the actors volunteered to only be paid the basic SAG rate, as they wanted to be a part of this so much. Based on true events and conversations with people who were there when it happened and also with special featured interviewing survivors of the shooting. Just some of the cast: Anthony Hopkins, Sidney Poitier, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore, William H. Macy, Laurence Fishburne, Freddie Rodriguez, Ashton Kutcher, among others. This was filmed in the actual hotel where this tragedy happened just before the hotel was to be torn down. Im my view, it wasn't controversial at all - it told the story of Bobby Kennedy's campaign and the on-going events with various people at the hotel prior to the speech and assassination - JFK was barely mentioned at all. The main song was written by Bryan Adams and sung by Aretha Fraklin, Mary J.Blige and the Harlem Boys Choir. This is a fine representation of the turbulent 60's - whether you liked the Kennedys or not, this film was a tour de force and demonstrated that Emilio is a fine and dedicated director. This movie had to be made, if only for history's and posterity's sake.
