It's not a foot. It's a marking tool. Is sewing related.

A marking tool, how does it work, do you know?

It's an adjustable seam guide. A screw goes thru y-shaped slot & into one of the holes to the right of your needle. You can loosen the screw & turn it to the area that you need ( curved or straight)...& slide back/ forth for the size seam allowance you want.

Thank you, that was very helpful. I may try it and see if I can figure out how it works. Now that I know what it is I will include it in auction if credits reach 3000.

What shank type do these fit? There are short shank, long shank, and slant shank. I believe the brands can be interchangeable but only if they are the same shank and not all machines within a given brand are nessicarily the same shank type.

I will measure shanks on my machines in a little while and get some definite size, so you can measure to see if they would fit.

My singer and Brother machines shanks with foot down measure 2 inches. Viking measures 3 inches and some fit it. I hope this gives you a better idea to what they will fit.

Hmm, that's hard to go off of measurements. It really has more to do with shape I would say. Did you see the link I gave you? It shows a picture of the differences between the different types. Or you could try doing a basic internet search for how to tell the difference. I know it's annoying to have to check so I appreciate you looking. It's kind of important to know though or else no one will know if these will fit their machine type unless they try it on.

Most of these feet go on with a screw type shank. I'm just looking closer to the pictures. A few go on with a clip on foot type.

Sorry the link was just the first one I brought up in a search. So you're saying the some of the feet you have go on by screw an some click on? Or are you meaning the ones on that site? Newer machines tend to have clip feet I've noticed where as many of the older ones have screw on feet. Yours look older so I would assume probably screw on feet for at least most of them. However shank type is something a bit different. I wish I could tell from the pics. I could really use some feet for my machine. It would just be really disappointing to get something I can't use. I may still bid anyway and chance it. Thanks for taking the time to try and figure it out for me. I know it's confusing. It would make things so much simpler if they all were one standard thing.

I think you are understanding what I meant. Most are screw on, there are a few clip on. If you win you can always put the ones you can't use back on. Thank yo for sticking with me.
