Description

The listing, ♥«´¨`•°..! Vintage Children's Bracelet !..°•´¨`»♥ has ended.

..°•´¨`»♥ This auction is for 2 Vintage Children's Bracelet's and vintage charms.

(Both charms are included in this auction). I have posted a picture of the back of the charm that is not attached - both charms are exactly the same, with a blue stone in the center.

♥ The other bracelet does not have a clasp. It is another piece that baffles me. I think it might even be older than the one with the charms. If anyone has any knowledge, as always, I welcome the information.

♥ Both Bracelet's are approximately 4 inches in length. ♥The charms are about the size of a dime.

***Please have your address verified by the time the auction is over. :-)

do you only do jewelry?i do everything i can get my hands on that will turn a dime or two.maybe you should go to gw on off days when there isn't such a crowd.i don't know what teh gw is like out there but here it's overpriced and the stuff isn't very interesting.i've found also that when thrift stores offer a half price day the prices are always jacked up so you don't really get a bargain you just think you do.we have one here that has a text tuesday.show their text at the register at checkout and get 25% off.i stopped going because i was aregular shopper there and know the price structures.i could see that everything was priced so that after the discount it cost what it would have cost normally'so i stopped going.the really good places to go are church affiliated thrift stores.you can usually find some nice things there.are there any flea markets out that way?we have one or two but are over run with thrift stores.haven't been lately i live on limited funds and the economy has done a number on my sales.i'm sorry you didn't get anything ,i was hoping you would have a good day.sheila

I was able to get a few things, it was just not what I was hoping for. (I love the vintage stuff), but it was so crowded I just wanted to get out of there. By the time I get off of work (I do Social Work), I am so tired all I want to do is come home and relax. I will be moving into a different office in a different town which is closer to a thrift shop I used to go to a lot. I can't wait to go; they have a lot of neat things in there. What I am really waiting on is Spring/Summer/Fall when the yard sales, estate sales and outside flea markets start. Oh my goodness, I could spend hours - days doing that. Have you heard of a show called "Junk Gypsy" on HGTV channel? Well, that would be my ultimate dream job. lol :-)

tami, the loose charm probably came with a chain.they used to sell sets for kids,bracelet/necklace as a matching set.looks 70's for some reason . the other piece is older.it has an interesting color, have you tried to clean it?

Thank you so much, Sheila. The set/charm could very well be from the 70's. It's very small. If you open it and lay it straight it is only about 4 inches long, so when it's closed the opening where it would go around the wrist is maybe 2" in diameter.

I have not tried to clean the other piece. Do you have any idea what I could use? Maybe Vinegar? I can try to clean it and then take a picture of it - wonder if there would be any markings after being cleaned that aren't noticeable now? The chain is larger "loops" and doesn't even have a clasp. It's just about the same size as the other one, with a small opening to fit the wrist.

NO VINEGAR!the very best cleaner to use is called MAAS metal cleaner.it is the same formula as simichrome which is what all pros use.the harley guys use it to polish the chrome on their bikes.and you know how guys are about their harleys.the one tou want to clean looks like the clasp broke and daddy fixed it up to close permanently.anyway,ACE hardware stores carry the MAAS ,it's kind of pricey but a little teeny bit goes a very long way and cleans immediately,no rubbing and rubbing forever.if you can't find it let me know and i'll send you some to try.will also give you the companies address so you can order it if you like it.it's what we all use at the store.the sizes are about right for a little girls wrist.too bad you couldn't have found a tiny chain.it is definitely a set.told you,any time you have a question ask.

We don't have an Ace in the town I live in. There's one in the town my daughter lives in though. I don't know though, with this weather coming in if I'll get to the town she lives in or not before this auction is over. I called True Value Hardware, but they don't carry it. I'm going to try to call a few other places here in town (Lowes, Menards, and Tractor Supply) to see if they have it. If not, then I'll let you know.

Thanks so much for all of the information, Sheila. I think that's kind of neat to think that a daddy might have fixed that old bracelet for his child. I sure do wish I knew for sure whose it was - the story behind it. If I did I might not want to auction it off. :-)

Oh, and yes, I know all about men and their Harley's. My dad will be 75 years old this fall and he still rides a big Road King. lol.

since your dad rides ask him if he knows any harley dealers that carry MAAS or SIMICHROME .i'll send you some to try out.won't be in time for this auction but you can see what it can do.til then try some siver polish and see what that does, don't use anything that is acidic on jewelry, you can get a nasty surprise sometimes.did you have any success in hunting at goodwill?i hope so.talk to you later.sheila

There is a Harley dealer in Indianapolis, one in Muncie and one in Kokomo. Muncie isn't too far from me, but I don't know the area very well. I will be going to my daughter's next weekend (weather permitting) and can stop in at Ace Hardware. Like you said, it won't be in time for this auction but will let me clean up any other jewelry I list from then on. That will be great too. Sometimes there are markings that might be there but can't be seen unless it's cleaned. Thank you so much for telling me about MAAS ! - And, thank you for telling me NOT to use vinegar! I did go to Goodwill for the first time in over 6 mths probably. It was so packed that I just wanted to get out of there. I didn't even see any jewelry. All of the jewelry I've listed has either been gotten at Estate sales, yard sales, or was one of my grandmothers. :-)
