Description

The listing, Arizona Copper Thunderbird Pendant Vintage has ended.

This Thunderbird pendant is vintage and genuine. It comes with a very vintage chain that I am not certain originated with the piece. (My mother had a habit of mixing and matching chains to her vintage pendants, but both are at least 35 years old and probably more.) The Thunderbird is HUGE, at 2.5" in length without the circular chain hole at the top. The chain itself is 14" in circumference, approximately. On the back of the Thunderbird, it says "copper" and something else, but I can't make it out. I added a closeup but my scanner is not the best.

My mother used to frequent trading posts and flea markets decades ago in northern Arizona. I'm continuing to clean out boxes from my garage, whenever I get the energy, and finding some beautiful things of hers. I'm not sure where she picked this one up but it was lovely enough to keep throughout the decades since.

Shipping is free through first class mail, securely wrapped and sent in a Tyvek mailer, to any part of the U.S. Listia rules apply for verified address. I always ship with tracking within 24 hours of receiving your verified address, so you'll get it quickly. Thank you for viewing my listing.

Thanks! Here's some info I found out about Bell:

The Bell Trading Company was founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1935 by Jack Michelson and his wife Mildred. They sold Native American Indian jewelry at various tourist locations in the southwestern United States until the late 1980s. This piece was made by the Bell Trading Post Copper company and is hallmarked with "Bell Copper" encircled around a bell.

So glad you were able to see the marking; my scanner is so bad, but my son verified it. His eyes are better than mine. I ran across this exact same pendant on a google search from someone who said that this was made in the late 40s or early 50s, but I have no way to corroborate that. I'd rather be conservative in my estimates and have customers happily surprised, than the other way around. Glad you noticed the Bell; I never would have ran across it in the google search if you hadn't! :)
