There is not Mint mark on the back. I think that means it was minted in the Denver mint.

If there is no mint mark on the back above the dome, then this is not a silver nickel.

Really? I thought all the nickels minted from 1942-1945 were 35% silver.

just 42 pd&s then there was a plain 42 that wasnt silver

All 1943-45 US nickels contain 35% silver. Only a portion of the 1942 nickels contain silver. The large mint mark was placed on the reverse so that silver nickels could be easily identified. If your coin has no mint mark on the reverse, it is not silver.
