Description

The listing, Hong Kong Paper Money Banknote $5 Bill has ended.

Very good condition (slightly wrinkled, but may be uncirculated) $5 Hong Kong banknote. This is not one of the new polymer bank notes, but I can't find a date for it.

Please see my other listings for an Indonesian and Kenyan banknote. I am getting out of the coin business on Listia, and have my remaining 280 coins for sale. These could be worth many tens of thousands of credits on Listia, so please let me know if you are interested.

Free US Shipping!

Please see my other listings for costume and gemstone jewelry ... lots of variety, something for everyone!

Also, please help support a Listia member who is auctioning a $25 gift card, using the credits to buy toys to take to kids at a hospital, and also is sending a needy military family a $50 gift card. A fun auction and a great cause! Here's the link: http://www.listia.com/auction/138922. Good luck!

I have no idea. I tried to find it on the internet just to figure out the date, and a quick search didn't turn up this exact bill. I'm sure you can find it, but I just don't have more time to mess with it. Search for Hong Kong bills and see if you can find the bright yellow/orange crest in the middle on any other bills. That will give you a pretty reliable date range, anyway. I kind of doubt this is still currency in Hong Kong, so I do think it is older, my guess is 1970s or 1980s.

when it comes to coin/currency collecting, paper money like this is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay. so, it has to be worth something to someone out there. :))

At an auction long ago, probably with all those coins I've been listing. I have those coins for sale, 280 of them, all foreign, from the 1940s, maybe a few older. I just don't want to list any more of them on Listia, the beads and jewelry keep me busy enough, have to draw the line somewhere! I'm going to post them on craigslist tomorrow.
