Description

The listing, Pirate Pearl Pepper ~Perhaps~ has ended.

Seeds were collected from my plants of MATURE RIPENED TO RED pods. 3rd pic.

Black Pearl is a hybrid. But I have been able to grow it relatively true from seeds given to me from a mature pepper plant. Be aware that growing it from my seed means it is no longer truly a "Black Pearl". It is STILL a beautiful plant.

Image 2 is a cutting from my own plant that was grown from seed. See the lovely ornamental contrast? Foliage seems to grow darker w/ more sun! Fruit can be eaten but they are rather small & very hot!

Information below is regarding the true "Black Pearl" chili.

New Ornamental Pepper Wins Prestigious Award

1 look at 'Black Pearl' & it is easy to see why it won this award. Compact, upright plants bear distinctive semi-glossy, deep purple to black leaves, complemented w/ scores of shiny round black-purple "pearls" of fruit that mature to bright red. 'Black Pearl' performs well as either a bedding or pot plant. It offers a vibrant accent to home gardens throughout the summer and fall seasons.

Its foliage, color & low care will attract many gardeners and "non-gardeners" to 'Black Pearl.' It performs exceptionally well in containers & deserves to be featured as the centerpiece.

P.S. BEWARE OF ROSE SEEDS! There's a reason why we don't see rose seeds sold in big garden centers. More info here; http://goo.gl/0UJZry
Also beware of home collected seeds from hybrid plants. They're no longer the same variety. Ask questions. Research >reliable< sources. Learn to succeed in your gardening efforts!

Thirdly, a GREEN bell pepper is an UNRIPE bell pepper & isn't likely to provide VIABLE seeds. There are very few varieties that produce bell peppers that ripen to green. Same for GREEN Jalapeno & most other pepper varieties. It only take minutes to check the variety & discover the color of the RIPE pepper.

Apple seeds? Mercy! Don't get me started!

If you don't mind saying, what sort of tree? There are many trees that propagated by seed. But there are many tree seeds that have been compromised in some way too. Apple tree seeds are a very good example.

I'm the only one in my family who has never been able to grow anything, (my mom has a nursery in New England & my brother has his masters in Botany
!) I've come a long way, seriously, I used to kill even my fake plants - even had witnesses lol. Then, two years ago my best friend helped me start a small garden as therapy for severe seizures, as a way to relax. For obvious reasons I was skeptical about it at first. We started small with easy to maintain rose Moss, petunias, marigolds, Lantana & dianthus plants. It surprised me by how relaxing and rewarding it really is. I now have added English Ivy, Aguave trees, tulips (a personal all time favorite, iris, live forever, which, sadly didn't :-/, spider plants and wandering jew.
This year, I'm adding to my garden with all new-to-me seeds, (so far I've only worked with already established plants and I can't wait to see if I am successful in growing "from scratch") . I said all of that because I found your information extremely useful & informative and wanted to thank you for sharing, I am aware that I need all the information, tips, tricks and advice I can get. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I honestly never would have believed that I would like gardening as much as I do but it's quickly became a passion for me, very rewarding. I am researching what is the most successful in the SW Oklahoma heat, brutally hot and dry, zone 7b I believe. I'm not sure what the "a" & "b" stand for, but, that's what Internet, friends and local nurserys are for :-)
I wish you every success in your auctions and will be watching them +bidding often :-)

Thanks for sharing your story with me. I have a facebook garden group with about 1500 members. There are several other experienced gardens from OK in the group. My head moderator is a master gardener from the mid-west and there are several other master gardeners too. Everyone LOVES to help and support new gardeners. We also just love socializing with other gardeners, trading seeds and plants and posting garden pics. If you're interested, pm me and I will give you the link. Just let me know who to be looking for because we've been growing so fast that I don't accept every request to join to anymore. We'd love to have you join us!!
