Beautiful Aluminum Sailing Ship Sculpture by Canadian Artist Gordon Hoselton. Exact age unknown, but I believe this particular piece was created pre-1990's. It isn't perfectly shiny anymore; it shows the usual "patina", or light wear, of this material's age, lending character to it.

The little certificate card that came with it has a lovely synopsis of the piece inside. Here is an excerpt:

"Feel the wind-borne spray, the swell of the waves below, the billowing canvas overhead, effortlessly harnessing nature's energy"...

It goes on to say that each free-formed sailing ship is the result of individual sand casting, the aluminum alloy hand-polished to a fine satin finish.
