Lavishly illustrated with 86 full-color plates and 146 black-and-white reproductions, AMERICAN FOLK PAINTING includes paintings from every major private and public collection of folk art in America. This 1987 edition is published by Bramhall House and was printed and bound in Italy. There are 244 full pages of pictures and detailed information concerning the art, the artists and the collectors. This book has been called the most comprehensive book ever published about the art of the self-taught American painter. The book and binding are in excellent condition. The dust jacket shows some wear to the edges and the name of the previous owner is written in small print on the inside book cover. There is also a red spot of ink on the book's outer top edges of the pages that is not really that noticeable but worth mentioning anyway.See pictures for details.
