Description

The listing, Tracfone S380c Messaging phone - Compatible with Safelink service has ended.

This listing is for a Tracfone S380C messaging phone. It uses Verizon towers for coverage. It is listed as a Triple Minutes for Life Phone with Tracfone. (The Triple Minutes does not apply to free Safelink minutes or promo minutes.) I ordered it last month but decided to keep my AT&T phone instead.

This phone is compatible with Safelink phone service. If you are a Safelink customer, you simply call Customer service and an automated system will walk you through transferring your number from your current Safelink phone to this handset.

The phone has only been used long enough to verify that it is fully functional.

I thought tracfone took a sim card? Verizin doesnt, My husband uses safelink and they've always said, no matter what, that the phones werent compatible . Including all preapid or pay as you go phones through trackphone. We hate Safelink. They force us to purchase used phones from them and they are always used and garbage when they send them. I would bid HARD but i dont trust Safelink. Ughh

Tracfone (Safelink) uses AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon for their services. If the phone model number ends in a G, it uses a SIM card while if it ends in a C it is a CDMA phone and uses Verizon's towers for service.

Tracfone/Safelink's customer service is pretty terrible, I'll admit. I had to do a LOT of research online to get straight answers. There is an option under Technical Support on the Safelink Automated support number that will walk you through switching your Safelink number to a Tracfone handset. The issue is that only the more "basic" handsets are allowed to use Safelink service. This handset is on the allowed list as I had my number transferred successfully into it. However, Verizon did not pick up very well at my home. I had to hunt down a retail Tracfone with an AT&T sim card in it for myself.

Thanks for the questions! If I can be of further assistance, please let me know!

Yes. I transferred my Safelink number from the free phone they sent me into this phone using the automated system that is under the technical support option of the Safe link support line. I had to call Customer support and talk to a person when I had my number removed from it and activated in my current Tracfone handset. Safe link numbers cannot be transferred into Smart phones like Android handsets but they can be transferred into "Feature phones" like this. I have made three transfers now. One for my cousin into a phone of this same model, one of my number into this phone, and one from this phone to my current Tracfone handset.

Thanks for the question. I hope that clarifies things.

When I pack the phone for shipping, the battery will be removed and packed in a plastic bag in the parcel to help prevent damage during shipping. This way I can ship it without discharging the battery.(Allowing the phone to be put straight to use upon arrival.)

Thanks again for all the questions on my listing!

He/she is correct about the safelink transfer you can transfer your safelink minutes to any tracfone, that you get ...only as they said only the minutes you pay for get tripled....
