Description

The listing, 1847 Rogers Bros Antique Gold Plated Silverware + Wooden Box has ended.

Here is an auction of awesomeness for YOU!! This was my great-great grandfathers and it was just sitting in my attic waiting for me to find it!!

Before you read any further let me make you aware that the winning bidder WILL PAY SHIPPING. It weighs about 10 lbs. This auction will include the silverware box and the silverware.

The silverware chest is made by McGraw by McGraw Box Co. It is in good shape with a small crack on the top. It also has a drawer that pulls out. This box is "Tarnish Proof".It measures 5" High X 10.5" Wide

The silverware goes as follows:
8 Knives
8 Spoons
8 Tablespoons
8 Forks

I cannot attest to anything that might be missing. The silverware is beautiful. There is a Guarantee Certificate with it stating it is gold electroplated stainless steel.. (Wow, that was a mouthful lol). The guarantee also states that "It is designed for those special occasion dinners to which you wish to lend elegance and a gracious touch of hospitality." (I don't know why but I found that statement to be humorous)

These are no longer in production and are quite a find. Thank you for viewing my auction today and Happy Bidding!!!

Hello
Nice auction,
I do own a 1847 Rodger silverware, just in case you did not know this is not from 1847, it is from 1940's 1847, it's their style number.

Thanks for viewing. I checked for two other Listia users and there's came back just over eighteen dollars. It is very beautiful but, not something that I can use. I know there's someone out there who can.

FYI, due to previous comments, I thought you would like to know that 1847 is the founding date of the Roger Brothers, and not the style number or the date this silverware was manufactured . In 1898 the International Silver Company became owners of 1847 Rogers Bros. And then you have Wm Rogers Silver which is one of the Rogers Brothers, and Rogers and son, and Eternally Yours Rogers Bros. All one family going there own way, so to speak. You can find this info at http://www.precious-metal-refining.info/1847-rogers-brothers-is-silver-value-precious-metal-refining-blog/
Hope this helps.
