This adorable mini coupe wooden car was made by hand, by husband. It is made of 100% untreated natural wood, so it would be better for indoor play. It fully functions as a toy and is made strong to handle the wear and tear little ones might put on it. Because these do have metal washers between the wheels, we recommend them for ages 2 and up.

Yes it can be stained or painted. This is completely raw (Untreated)

Would it have splinters or become that way with play?

It is untreated, so there is always a chance that the wood could splinter.
But it is sanded smooth.
