more info would be nice,like type, how tall they will/can get, and what usda zones it likes.

Type unknown it grows wild in the woods in Louisiana along our bayou. Grows very well in zone 8. 12 feet or taller.

are these hardy and will they grow in zone 6?

Once established they should be fine. If not you could protect from freezing by moving inside if planted in a large pot.

Grow over in my creek in Texas too. Never though about Harvesting them live, but I do use the wood sometimes as decor for my animal tanks :) Thanks for the Idea :P
