each (1) bottle contains 1/2 fl oz, which is enough solution to test hundreds of items. simply apply a tiny drop of solution on to a sample or scrape sample, if it turns red you have got sterling silver & the darker the red the better.
if the piece being tested completely disappears or bubbles blue / green then you know that it is not silver.
if applying to old tarnished silver or scrap coins polish with rag the outer tarnish and then apply to outer edge.
(warning do not apply to collectible coins! you will ruin the value substantially!)
