WHITE:
Stowell's Evergreen Sweet Corn
80-100 days. Enjoy the sweet, old-fashioned goodness of this treasured heirloom. Tall, 8-10 ft stalks bear 8" ears with 16-18 rows of tender, creamy white kernels.
Called "evergreen" because it holds its fresh taste in the field, it was named after its breeder Nathaniel Newman Stowell.
Here's an all-American tale: After years of refining the strain in the 1800s, Mr. Stowell sold two ears of seed for $4.00 to a 'friend' who agreed to grow it for his own private use. His friend then sold the seed for $20,000. A bitter lesson, but ever since then, Stowell's Evergreen has been one of the most popular white sweet corn varieties for home gardens and fresh market. Open-pollinated, this is old fashion pure corn seed you can save.
& BLUE:
Hopi Blue Flint Corn
100-110 days. Considered a staple corn of the Hopi people, this corn can be eaten as a sweet corn when young; when dry it can be used to make flour. Hopi Blue has a high protein content & makes wonderful tortillas. 7" ears on 5-6 ft tall plants.
All 3 varieties were organically grown and are, of course, non-GMO strains.
