Description

The listing, National Geographic magazines has ended.

"Please do not flag this item" My request is simple, I know about the rules and the banned items from auction, however I believe that my two items should qualify.
My reasoning behind this is simple; yes, these are magazines, but they are National Geographic Magazines, educational material. These are not your everyday, Cosmopolitan, Vogue or Vanity Fair, these are magazines that support the education of countless people all over the world. My children use them in school for research work in both Socail Studies, Geography and History. I could see if maybe the magazines printed ficticious accounts or other false or misleading information, but they do not. They print information that has been researched by dozens of research scientists, biologists, ecologists, historians, and countless other professionals. The National Geographical Society, feel that the information contained in these articles are needed to either inform, educate or bring about efforts of conservation, help, or education among people and countries as well as businesses who seem interested to know what differences are happening all around us, whether in our own country, around our globe, with the planet Earth or our universe and beyond. I feel that it is because of this, that these National Geographic magazines should be allowed, so that others who feel the same as I do, can read or utilize its information to teach it to their children, or use it to influence a positive change, whether it is a personal achievment or a global change decades from now.
So my hope is, is that Listia and the moderators of will see t.hat my auction makes it to the end, with or without a winner.
I will list the contents of these magazines in the below comments section

just a suggestion.. you could submit a ticket about this - http://help.listia.com/requests/new - so that you can get an official answer from either ListiaKevin or ListiaTy as to whether or not this is allowed. That way you can definitively state, for the benefit of the moderators, that you have proof it is allowed. Personally, I've never understood why back issues of magazines are not allowed in the first place, but what do I know...

I already did that, they told me to go ahead and repost it and explane why this should stay in auction. Thanks for the advice, I hope it works this time. Bid, bid, bid

Great auction! I don't understand why past issues of mags can't be put up for auction either. Maybe they think no one would be interested? I fanned you! :)

I really agree with you. I had "mommy~newborn" help magazines posted and got flagged. That was just not right to me, especially when I have seen so many sexual toys listed on here. I mean come on now! GOOD POST! Good Luck! ;-)

Thank you so much for your support. Maybe if more of us speak out, we may be able to turn there (Listia) thinking towards educational magazines.

a mod explained in the Listia help forums that magazine and newspaper auctions are usually deleted unless they are collectible or rare.

Not only that - but we are essentially trading them....money is not being exchanged. And re-using and recycling. GREAT AUCTION!
