The listing, Authentic Russian Nesting Dolls-Signed & Dated-Set of 5 has ended.

This listing is for an Authentic Russian Doll brought back from a soldier stationed in Russia, from what I was told when I bought it. It is signed by the artist and dated 1992. It is a large set. I can get the exact measurements for you within a day.

***UPDATE*** The biggest doll SIZE is 7 1/2-7 3/4 inches-
The smallest doll is 1 and three quarters inches.

The set is one of my more expensive sets because of the condition, size and signature with date.

This is sure to be a gorgeous addition to your existing collection or an excellent starter for a collection. It is
also wonderful for the person who just wants one of these unique treasures. It is said that Russian dolls bring Good Luck to their owners.

Some Information about Russian Dolls:
- Do not twist to open; this can cause the paint to chip around the edges. "Split" them open.

- Pick the doll up while holding the lower half—if the top part is picked up, it may come loose and fall.

- Occasionally, fluctuations in humidity and temperature can affect doll’s fit. Do not expose to extreme temperatures.

- Display out of direct sunlight

- Keep clean from dust

- Take care in opening smaller dolls as they can be fragile

- Authentic Russian Dolls usually have a rim on the base of the biggest doll

-Russian Dolls are said to bring GOOD LUCK to their owners

Thank you, Kathy! I have already sold a panda nesting doll because, as you know, I give first choice to my winners, and I take special requests. It is so cute, I can't wait to get a pic of it up. But, the buyer is waiting until I can send it. If I had as much money as we do snow here in Pa, I'd be rich, but still wouldn't be able to get to the post office..lol. Wonderful set! I have a very similar designed one that is also hand-painted and straight from St. Petersburg that my best friend bought me while she was studying there for a year. The look great on a bookshelf and your notes on handling are absolutely true and important for new owners to know. Another one to mention is that they are NOT children's toys as the paints may or may not be non-toxic and little hands may less than delicate and scratch or chip them. :-) F & W!

Yes, I believe I did mention not for children under three years of age. But I am putting my monthly inventory order in for some children's nesting toys, like the Little Tykes farm animals etc. and a set of nesting racing cars, I think that would be so cute.
