Certainly Vintage, Maybe antique Hand Crafted Lords Prayer on Cotton / Muslin fabric.
This was very nicely done but first I want to say that the photos were shot with flash so the actual fabric color is lighter than the true color. It is a creamy color, possibly from age- not white.
The Lords Prayer has changed throughout the ages, cultures and denominations. This version is from Mathew of the King James Version used by some churches today.
The difference if not apparent is in the "forgive us out debts".... other versions are trespasses and the latest version is sins instead of debts.
I see one possible (but maybe not) error, that being: Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Is IN instead of ON an error or did some versions have this? I think it matters not myself but believe someone may enjoy framing this lovely piece or applying a backing and incorporating it into a quilt or a pillow. I bought a box lot of old linens and many are truly nice and a few I had to toss, but decided to toss this one on to listia as Im not crafty and kept the old kitchen prints and tatted doilies.
It measures 12" across and 16.5" Down the edges are uniformly frayed. I see one tiny rust like spot about the size of a pin ***** and one same size hole but it doesn't go all the way through the fabric. Please keep in mind it is not white like the photos more cream colored fabric.
I think its a treasure but don't know what to do with it.... maybe you do!
