They are incredibly hardy and very easy to grow.

how often do you water them? when the winner gets it should she water them right away?

Yes I would water them once you have them in the dirt that you want.
If you live somewhere cold I would put one inside just in case, so you can repopulate in case any outside don't make it.

Once they are in the spot you want, you very rarely have to water them.
I water mine once a month and just give it a good soak.
You could water more often, just give it less water each time.

These things are not picky 8)
