I tried. It's just a wee bit too big because of the box it's in. It would if I took it out of the box. Winners choice. I can always wrap it in bubble wrap and ship it flat rate out of the box.

If you read the description it says I updated the auction to free shipping. I initially was charging exact shipping but I found a shipping method that was affordable to me.

this is a good starter eReader for granddaughter? I have a kindle, can she use kindle books on this or is the nook strictly for Nook readers. she reads stuff like wimpy diary and recently started Steven King stuff.

Yes, this is an awesome first eReader for your granddaughter. It's in like new condition. Kindle books are specific to the KIndle. Barns & Noble has its own Nook books. You can buy them or they have tons of free books too. You can download them right off the NOOK. All you have to do is set up a Barns & Noble account.

I'm not sure. I know when you hook up the USB cable it says ready to transfer Sorry I can't be of more help. I've never transferred any books from my pc.
