Shall I win.... There will be modern reenacting soldiers eating from these utensils in camps across Louisiana.. And east TX... and on into GA and MS and FL and MO. Please... Let these patriots feel the history. They are the new army of our country. Let them eat from the silver spoon... Please?

I know my History! Oneida Community started production of silver-plated flatware and hollow-ware in 1899 using the "Community Plate" mark. Oneida Community purchased the Wm A. Rogers and 1881 Rogers companies in 1929 and started producing a somewhat lower-quality line of products using those companies’ marks. In 1935, Oneida Community changed its name to Oneida Ltd.
Just which era are you re-enacting?

It doesn't matter... Does it? Will you, or anyone you share these pieces with appreciate their age...? When I am entrenched with soldiers in a reenactment..."one" does not stop to look at engraved marks on silverware... But only stops to appreciate the metallurgy of the piece they hold in their hand, after the battle is done and dinner is at hand. Yes, then and only then does "one"" look upon the makers mark.

Do you ... Dr Inevitable..., have a usable purpose for these pieces? I am a living historian reenactor, and can find a meaningful use for these incredible pieces. Let them speak to history through the efforts of living historians. Don't let them become an archaic and dusty collection of an avid closet historian. Let them live!!!! Let me win!!!!

I would like them to go for more, but I know everyone on here is big on free shipping and because I'm kind of new to this I figure it might make people weary of my auctions so I like to offer free shipping at a point that is both fair to me & the bidder I guess. I don't want to ship for free if they only go for 200 of course, but if I can get at least 4,000 I'm comfortable with it :)

One of the butter knives is from Ford's Theatre. Abe Lincoln used it just before the curtain opened. How would I know this you might ask? Doctor Inevitable knows everything!
