The auction is for Five Hundred MG.....500 mg....Fresh for 2014...."Danvers Half Long" Carrot seeds....enough to grow a nice patch and a GOOD KEEPER!.....One of the Best carrots for storage.....The carrots grow to about 7" to 7 1/2" long and are about 1 1/2" to 2' across tapering to the bottom.....The flesh is a Fine grained , Bright orange color with a mild flavor............Carrots can be planted in a prepared bed after the danger of frost and can be sown as late as mid-summer for a later crop......they grow best in a light , sandy or humus soil that is free of rocks ... .......Some people, ( like me )...grow Carrots in a Raised Bed.....the object of this being to avoid soil compaction which will hinder the growth of carrots....The plants mature in about 75 days after germination ....Sow the seed thinly in a row about 2' apart and cover with about 1/4" to 1/2" of fine soil and gently firm....After the seedlings are established thin the plants to about 2" apart , ( and enjoy the baby carrots steamed or in a salad) , keep weed free and as the Carrots grow keep the crowns covered with some soil to avoid "Greening"......Fresh carrots are one of my favorites and are not only Delicious but a Healthy choice for you and a Good pick for the Home Gardner....The seed packet pictured are the seeds you will receive.....Low starting bid of 499.....FREE shipping to the USA , lower 48.........Thanks for Viewing and Best of Luck in your Gardening and your bidding!
