Description

The listing, Working Atari 5200 With Box And 4 Games! Check It Out! has ended.

*Please read all details and ask any questions*

Up for grabs is a working 4-port Atari 5200 with the box, which is a rare find for any collector. Please note that it does come with 2 controllers, however only 1 of them works, I did label the non working controller with table that can be easily removed. Also note that the very small video converter thing pictured which is labeled "MADE IN TAIWAN" is missing 1 of the 2 wire connectors, both of these problems should be fixable. It comes with 4 games which are Kangaroo, RealSports Football, Pac-Man, and Super Breakout. It also comes with 2 controller layouts for each game except Kangaroo. It even includes the original 90 day warranty paper and shipping receipt from Sears. The antenna switch box still has the original adhesive side to the Velcro which hasn't been used. I put up plenty of pictures, let me know if any more are needed. GIN is a little high, because I'm not sure what to put it at, so if there are any fair offers before bids are placed let me hear them. Free shipping to the US as usual and I will try to pack it up as securely as possible! Good luck and happy bidding!

Yeah it is... That's why I'm getting rid of it, takes up a LOT of space and it is collecting dust. I figured it could use a better home.

1) The console itself WORKS just fine... hence why it says WORKING Atari and why I have pictures of it turned ON and WORKING...
2) One of the controllers is broken... quoting this website http://retroauction.com/buying-and-selling-an-atari-5200/ the person says "I would go so far as to say that they are the worst stock controllers of any major pre-Crash console....." and "But we’re really jumping the gun here: the vast majority of these controllers just plain don’t work after thirty years in an attic or closet." He even states that "From all this, you might guess that fully-functional 5200 controllers are valuable. You’d be right. Sellers who guarantee fully-working controllers can get up to $40 apiece for them."
3) The "connector thing" that I refer to that is broken is called a VHF adapter, the RF antenna WORKS which is how I connected it to my TV, I'm honesty not old enough to even know what a VHF is... I grew up with my NES which used RF not VHF, so even by 1985 VHF was old technology...
4) Why stop by my auction just to knock on it? You are only making yourself look bad and encourage comments such as brianbarranco's comment about you....

This is the one that came after the 2600 (2 x 2600 = 5200) and ironically the cartridges are like twice the size as well. Thanks for stopping by!

I would love to bid on this but must know if you will ship to Canada and if so how much. Thanks bunches!!!

I'm not 100% certain (more or less because I don't know the exact weight), but I think it will cost around $50-60 and I would be willing to pay $20-25 of that if you want me to ship it to Canada. Also, if you win and don't want the box, that might save on shipping if I put it in a smaller box. Thanks for stopping by!

Awesome! Thanks for getting back to me. I will be sure to keep this in mind if I win! Atari is great. We have the 2600 and the Jaguar. It's too bad they went straight to publishing after the Jaguar. It would have been neat to see atari carry on.

Yeah that would be interesting if they were still making consoles. What is your postal code? I can give a somewhat better price estimate for shipping if you need it
