This is wonderful dye! I have used it for years in the Art Dept of the summer camp where I teach. It's Very vibrant. I mix it up and put it them in upcycled old dish detergent bottles so i can have precision control over where the dye goes when making a variegated skein. You can also use it to dye a single color, of course. Koolaid works just as well but actually is more expensive by volume of dyable material. A cheaper way to go about it is with food coloring. My favorite brand for dying is Wiltons. For food dyes, You have to add acid (vinegar) to the dyebath for it to work though.

The color is washfast and lightfast when the instructions are followed properly.

Excellent stuff!

I've always wanted to try this, but the only instructions I've found online say to use kool aid LOL! I know that'll just wash out! Watching this one!

I dye with Kool-Aid and if done right the colors stay. Kool-Aid makes softer colors is why I got these I wanted deep colors.

Oh, cool. It's nice to know that works too. Do the colors bleed in the wash, though?

I use acid dyes on my handspun yarn. I keep my second bathroom as a dye kitchen and use a very large slow cooker as my "stove". I can always use more colors!
