Difference is in the quality of movie in the UV cloud. Generally DVD provides SD quality, and Blu-Rays provide HD.

I can't really comment on the GIN level, as even SD quality UV codes get bid up high.
But Yes, this is something to bear in mind in the future.
Hell, even HD is considered inferior - now that UltraHD TVs are in the stores.

I agree with the sentiments of keeping up, and having to spend more money.
FYI:
UltraHD = 3840 pixels wide by 2160 pixels tall (8.3 megapixels).
This is four times the number of pixels of HD.
HD = 1920 by 1080 (2.1 megapixels).
