Description

The listing, A Wild Flower That Butterflies Just Love 100+ seeds has ended.

I have been searching for the name of this flower, and can't seem to find it. Maybe someone out there knows what it is. All I know is I have taken some of my best butterfly pics from these little yellow-orange babies. I got them About 8 yrs. ago from a farmers market. He told me to throw them out, cover them with mulch, and keep them watered. They were mixed with Zinnias, and Cosmos for color. And I've had them every yr. since.
So if you like butterflies, you'll love these little wild flowers.
Oh yes, and they are an aggressive flower. So make sure you put them where you want them to stay, and give them room. I think their considered an annual, but you can take all the seeds you want, (to trade or give away) and they will still reseed themselves.

Sorry, but until I get a name, I won't be able to send an info sheet with these. This is all the info I have on them.

Good luck to all bidders, and
Winner must have Listia verified address.

I have some cosmos in shades of purple and white that have naturalized and reseed themselves in an area in my yard. The foliage and the growing habits are just like the pictures you have here. When the pedals wither, the seed head is almost like a golden ball containing the seeds. I have noticed that the seeds seem to get larger every year. These are very nice looking flowers that you have and while I agree that they belong to the cosmos family, I am not familiar with the variety

I added a pic. It's the next to the last one, that has a clear shot of the seed pod after it open. The seeds are long and spiky. A lot longer then cosmos. That's the main reason I say they're different. But either way, I still love them.

I definitely see what you mean, I've seen those type of seed heads on certain varieties of marigold but never before on a cosmos. Very unique flower you have here.
