thanks. yeah very true! I've bought a few fake pieces myself in the past from sellers who claim that its 100% real. so I got sick of it and bought a professional jewelers kit so if it did happen again, than I can provide proof and issue a full refund! I thought it would benefit my buyers as well, giving them more confidence to bid! I may be the only one doing this because I haven't seen any other silver listings that go as far as I do to verify silver content! Good luck and happy bidding! :)

I also do this because just because a piece says 925 doesn't mean its pure silver! it could be silver plated! So I don't deal with 50/50 chance and the acid test are a definitive way to verify 100% if it is or isn't silver!

I did the same thing, I bought a scale and an acid test kit. I bought 7 rings from one buyer over several months that she said was stating sterling silver. None of them were, she gave me back all my credits and told me to keep the rings. I really think you knew what she was selling, and was just waiting for it to catch up to her. Well, it did. I now ask seller if they do acid tests on there it jewerly, some think it will hurt it, so that is a flag not to deal with them. Lot of scammers on here.

Definitely! Many scammers indeed! The scratch stone test and 18k acid does hardly anything to the silver, but on the other hand the silver acid test leaves a slight blemish depending on how much is used! But id rather have a slight blemish, rather than potentially buying something that may be fake! But good luck and happy bidding, I hope you win! I also fanned you!
