Sweet vintage bag!!!

Tag inside says "A Gayla Handbag"... I am not familiar with this label but the purse does have a LEWIS mirror inside, so I'm not sure if Gayla and Lewis are related somehow, or if it's just a mirror from another bag that got left in this one.

It's probably from the 50s or 60s, it has both a kelly style and yet it's also fairly mod. There's the flap front with a magnet closure, and a mod enamel decorative buckle.

Pretty lipstick red patent leather. Bag has structure and sits up unassisted.

Interior is black with a slip pocket on the side, where the mirror was found.

Bag is in really great shape, just a few little marks, the largest being the one on bottom (see the last photo). There are a couple smaller ones on back, and a tiny dot chip out of the enamel on the buckle detail. Otherwise, clean, no smoke odor.

Size is 9 inches long, 5 ½ inches tall, 3 ½ inches deep, and the loop strap has a 4 inch drop for hand carrying or slipping onto your forearm.

Classic shape, timeless color, can't go wrong!
