Though I am not Jewish, my daughter in law is. Might be nice to surprise her with a dinner sometime. I have one question..........do these have to be kosher?

Hi, thanks for your message.
For a traditional Jewish meal, then YES - it should be kosher.

BUT... if I were you - before I cook dinner for her... I would talk to her about it (without hinting that you may want to cook her dinner sometime). Although I'm not Jewish, I do have some Jewish friends. One I know is VERY strict about meals and meal preparation. The other two follow some of their beliefs but are relaxed in others.

If you live in a big city, you may want to check out the Jewish community and ask around for where you can buy kosher friendly foods. You can't go wrong there!
