Hole as inalot of there money, the center of the coin is open, sometimes it's square and other times its round.

No, I think he means that the coin, as minted, has no hole, because many chinese coins are minted with a hole in the middle. The hole in this coin is post-minting, so that a chain can be put through it to make a 'good luck' necklace.
