The listing, Rare Heirloom ✽ VARIEGATED FISH PEPPER ✽ 10 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.
This pre-1870 African-American variety has delightful green and white mottled foliage with pendant shaped 2½"fruits. The peppers start out cream with green stripes, to a striped orange, maturing to a deep red color. They were named Fish Peppers, as the lightest peppers were used to make a white cream sauce for fish and other seafood. Even before they bloom & produce, the variegated foliage is incredible. Keep these isolated from other pepper plants & be ready to remove a few that don't show variegation. 5000 - 10,000 Scoville heat units

This Auction: You will be receiving 10 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 70°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!
Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
