Description

The listing, A joyful swarm of silvery dragonflies (20 beads, NIP) has ended.

This auction is for 20 antique-silver dragonfly beads (approx 8 mm by 5 mm) in a new, unopened and labeled package.

As a dragonfly fan and jewelry maker, I especially love THESE small silver dragonfly beads for their artistic detail and joyful, free-flying grace. They almost look like they are moving!

A FEW TOTALLY COOL THINGS ABOUT DRAGONFLIES:

Since ancient times, dragonflies have delighted and amazed humans all over the world. This almost-mystical insect has come to symbolize many beautiful things across many cultures -- most commonly "change" and "self-realization," but also...

Power and poise… The dragonfly’s agile flight and its ability to move in all six directions has amazed humans around the world.
In Japan, Samurai use it as a symbol of power, agility and victory. The dragonfly can move at an amazing 45 miles an hour, hover like a helicopter, fly backwards like a hummingbird, fly straight up, down and on either side. Somehow, it does all of this with the elegance of a ballet dancer.

Shimmering magic... The dragonfly's wings and body are iridescent, unpredictably glittering in a rainbow of colors depending on the angle of light that is falling on it. In China, people associate the dragonfly with prosperity, harmony and as a good luck charm.
Among some Native American peoples, it is a sign of happiness, speed and purity.

Can you tell I like dragonflies? (LOL!) Hope you do too, and that you find these little ones as irresistible as I do!

Do you know what kind of metal they are made from?

Hi!
They're labeled as "lead-free," and they don't say "silver-plated," so my best guess is pewter.
