I have had this for a very long time. I love crystals for what they do for us...this is a quote from Wikipedia ...Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz often used in jewelry. The amethyst itself is 1/2 in long and 1/4 in wide. It is really amazing when you hold it up to the sunlight and look through it. Oh yeah....it says 925 on the back on the bale. The pics aren't very good but it is sterling silver!
