This is for avocado seeds.
You get 10 seeds to start your garden!

Avocado trees require a lot of sun and moist soil. Plant the seed with the pointed side up about 2 inches below the top of the soil and watch how quickly it grows!

Friends and family will appreciate your generosity when you share the plentiful harvest that your Avocado Tree will deliver time and time again.

Avocado can produce fruit all by it's self. But each tree will produce even more if you add a second, for cross-pollination.

Avocado Tree can grow in a variety of ways to suit your needs and liking. For a larger tree, plant outdoors and watch it soar to heights of 20 feet or more. Or, for a shorter tree, plant in a container and you can limit growth from 5-7 feet tall. Many growers find this method optimal for moving the tree between indoors and out.

I think they would! I am growing some in Maryland and they only really need the light! I have notice that birds like them so watch out! I had to close in my porch with screen, because the first time I tried they took my 4, 6 inch stem that had just sprouted their first leaves!

I'm wondering if you think that they would make it outside in Indiana, or should they be put in large pots.

You should give the avocado's a large pot, they are going to turn into tree and it saves you from re-potting them!
Now as the weather goes, you should start off in the house and when the weather changes you can put them out side in direct sun and let them go.

Are the seeds male or female? As you know you need a female and male to pollinate to bear fruit.

It could be as simple as having no other varieties to pollinate your tree. The most viable crops come from cross pollination.

An avacado tree likes a sunny, hot environment with good soil moisture and an acidic soil. mulch well and fertilise with organic compost. Keep out of the frost.

Ty...... The trees do not start fruiting until at least five years after planting. Avocado flowers are open two days. The first day they are female, the second day they are male. The flowers are pollinated by bees or wind. Avocado trees do best in soils with a pH between 5.0 and 7.0, so they can properly absorb nutrients. As for where you live, that you may have to look up!......hopes this help!
