Description

The listing, Great Beginners(used) Flute Band Instrument has ended.

This is a good used flute! It has quiet a few scratches but all seals are in great condition. Comes with nice case. It's a Selmer
Reg U.S Pat Off
Elkhart-ind
S-3473.

This would be a great beginners instrument for the person wanting to play flute in band but unsure if they would like playing it or stick with it.

Instrument are very expensive. Most kids wanna play till they find out that it takes lots of time & devotion in learning to play music.

This would be a great alternative way for them to try it & if they love it & stick with it... Then you could purchase a brand new one.

*******Shipping will be $13.00 flat rate******** unless bids go over 55,000 then I will include free shipping!**************

Any questions??? please ask before bidding. No returns on this items cause it's expensive to mail out & for you to return. So, if you don't like it please just relist it. Someone on listia will love & need it!

Thanks for watching my items & good luck in bidding!

I played flute as a young girl, in middle school and high school. I used the schools flute back then when they furnished them. I would love to learn to play again. Hopefully I will get lucky!

Wow!!! I too used borrowed one for the first year of band in 5 grade, then A used one for 6/7 grade, finally we were able to afford buying me a new one in payments for high school. Back then the cheapest was like $500. I can't imagine now but I loved it but have not really played since graduated. I bought a piccalo at a sale thinking that would be fun but never made time for it. Marriage, cooking & kids took over my life. Best of luck to you in wanting to learn it over again. Best if luck if bidding. ;)

That I do not know. My boyfriend bought this one at a garage sale when he was with his ex-wife for one of her daughters(from a prior marriage) about 10 years ago but she never was interested in playing flute. Sorry that I can not help more about the age of flute. Is there supposed to be marking somewhere.

Could you please look for the serial number on the flute. Just follow these steps to locate the number.

First, look at the head joint, the part you blow into. Some will have a partial or complete serial number at the "closed end." It's usually on the under-side of the flute. If nothing is there, try the "open" end. There is a "discolored" look where part of that head joint fits down in the body of the flute. Just above that "discolored" area, usually on the bottom side, is a number.

Second, look at the body of the flute, the largest piece, with all the keys. There is a "Brand" area toward the top of the piece, between two ridges. Under the bottom ridge, some flutes stamp the serial. Others, just go to the bottom end of the part, and look on the underside of the flute.

Finally, the foot-joint, smallest section with a couple of keys. Most often, all or part of the serial number is stamped at the end furthest away from the keys.
