A background on my Autism Awareness Crafts:
In June 2013 our son was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) by the team at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. It was definitely a period of uncertainty in our family's life... but the AMAZING team at LPCH and Clinic helped us get through the uncertainty. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital provided many services and resources that have a POSITIVE impact in our son's Autism journey. For that, we are truly grateful.

I started making Autism Awareness Crafts to raise funds for charity for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital through my store "TwinkiesKrafts" at Etsy.com.

TwinkiesKrafts will donate 75% of the proceeds from all Autism Awareness Crafts AND 20% of the proceeds from all other merchandise that you purchase from my store to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA.

Please help me support Autism Awareness and help better understand and treat Autism. You can check out the FUND RAISING Progress (TwinkiesKrafts @ Etsy.com for LPCH) through this link: http://give.supportlpch.org/goto/twinkieskrafts

Our son is 4 1/2 years old now, and he's a very happy and fun kid that always loves to smile and makes us smile every day.

I'm glad you are actively involved in finding more about this topic? I have a niece that has Autism. We weren't sure if she would be able to live on her own when she grew up . I'm proud to tell you that she is living on her own, with a lot of training on the day to day living issues that could happen. She has had a few minor problems that have come up. She knew to call her mom, and all was well. As a child, she wore a helmet to protect hr head. If she got upset she would bang her head on the floor. She went to a school that specialized in Autism. I'm so proud of her progress!

Wow, it's great to hear that she's doing well, and able to function on her own. It really gives them confidence and a sense of pride to be independent. Thanks for sharing your story. Best wishes for your niece.
