Description

The listing, Artisan ✽ STRIPED CAVERN ✽ Specialty Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

It is not often that you find an interesting shaped, unique colored, and tasty specialty tomato that grows consistent, abundant, and WITHOUT a flaw, cat-face, crack, or crevice. These are Schimmeig Stoo, also commonly called Striped Cavern. I am in LOVE! They are lobed just like a bell pepper, and can be hollowed out to stuff with your favorite goodies. You can even stuff and bake. I had such an abundance that I even canned my extras. Developed in 1979 by Tom Wagner, Schimmeig Stoo means Striped Hollow in the Gaelic/Norse language of his grandfather.

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
