The listing, Artisan ✽ AMANA ORANGE ✽ Beefsteak Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.
Glowing orange beefsteaks have incredible full flavor. With relatively few seeds, they are excellent for canning and make a refreshingly tart tomato juice. This very attractive tomato is rumored to be from Amana, Iowa, though this has proven to be untrue. It was most likely a mutation discovered from Gary Haley of Florida. This had one of the most brilliant colors of all of my orange tomatoes.

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
