Description
The listing, 8 inch Iron Skillet has ended.
This is an Iron Skillet. I do not know the manufacturer. There is a “5” engraved on the handle. The bottom has some rust and corrosion as if it wasn’t seasoned properly. It is 8 inches in diameter with 2 pour spouts. If cleaned & seasoned properly, this could be a great pan for someone. I tried to do some research on it, but the #5 didn’t lead me anywhere. If you know something about this pan or its type, please feel free to comment with your information below. It will be greatly appreciated.
As usual, all Listian rules apply. I only ship to Listia Verified Addresses & only ship in the USA, sorry. No buyer’s remorse & no negative or advertising comments please. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you for stopping by & God Bless.

I have several of these and, at least for the ones I have, the number stands for the size. That doesn't mean that is the size of the cast iron skillet it just means this is a #5 skillet. For instance i have a 14 and it isn't 14" across. The #5 ones that we have we each use for grilled cheese. Cast iron is great because the heat is distributed throughout the pan quite evenly. For those who do not know, This saying it is seasoned is a good thing. If you win this do NOT put it in your dishwasher or you will have to season all over again and that is not fun. Great Auction! Good luck to all.
No prob. some have marks and some don't, for collectors they like the marking and those who use them daily just want good quality. From the pics this looks like good quality to me. Good luck on your auction
I went to use it last week and it was gone. So I ask him "where is it??" All he said was I'll get another one (yeah right, I've heard that before). So me 'what happened to it??" Him "none-ya" huh?? how the heck does someone burn up a cast iron skillet?? What makes me mad is we have a mini McCall 22 years old and fumes like that could kill him.
Go buy a new one and make him season it outside in a fire-pit. My grandpa did that all the time with his cast iron. Sometimes it works better than the oven. Don't be too mad at him, he loves you. If he didn't, then he wouldn't have been scared to tell ya about it.
Also, the winner will receive an 11 page print out of cleaning, seasoning & storage tips that I have been able to compile. So if you have never used cast iron before or if you use it everyday....this might teach you well or teach you something new.
I don't see cracks, just some corrosion from age & someone not seasoning it properly. These are not mine. I've never used them. Found them in an attack of a house that I bought.
This is a great auction! Gives folks a chance to revisit simpler times, LOL! I have several cast iron pieces that I use on a regular basis. The 10" skillet is my favorite. I even have an old cast iron corn stick pan. What lovely memories they bring. Thanks for listing these. I fanned you and am watching this one.
