Description

The listing, Linksys WMP600N Wireless-N Dual Band PCI Adapter with 6dbi Antennas has ended.

I have a Linksys WMP600N Wireless-N Dual Band PCI adapter. I originally purchased this on Ebay as a "Refurbished" card, but have had no issues with the component, as long as I have had it, since 2010. I no longer have a need for it. It has been tested and working properly. I've been getting an average throughput of 62-75 Mbps on my local network wifi.

I did lose one of the original screw on antennas, so one of the original small antennas, will be sent, along with 2 additional 6dbi large antennas, for slightly greater range capabilities from a router/access point. You can always easily install compatible antennas of your choice, as well.

This is PCI architecture, so it would be used in an older Desktop system with a PCI slot available. This is NOT the newer PCI-E slot, but older PCI connection, the two are not interchangeable.

Compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit) and Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit).

It does also work with Linux. I have tested it with my Linux Mint 16 desktop, and it did install the card right away, and connected to my personal AC router wifi without any problems.

There is some light scuffing on the bottom of one of the 6dbi antennas, but other than that, it is in very good condition and functions very well.

is the item in good great or mint condition? Anything wrong with it?

I would consider it good condition. The only change is the use of the larger 6dbi antennas, instead of the original smaller ones. Only one small antenna will be shipped with the two larger 6dbi antennas. Works well with Windows or Linux.

Average throughput was 62-75 Mbps on my Linux Mint box which was roughly 40 feet away from my Wireless AC router, with 2 walls in between. Your individual performance may vary depending on ones personal environment and other possible radio interference.

@gordonbuzzell-Actually no screw missing on any of the Large 6dbi antennas. It is one of the original smaller antennas that is missing. Your welcome to use the two large 6dbi antennas that will be shipped or you can always use your own compatible ones.

@gordonbuzzell, I like I mentioned in the description above, your personal performance may differ depending on your own environment and personal network. Personally I have about 10 different devices along with 5 directly connected Ethernet devices, connecting to my AC based Router at the moment, which does effect throughput to due to some only being able to connecting using the 802.11g protocol and others 802.11n. I don't have any wifi adapters that connect as 802.11ac, yet.

In your case it might be best to stick with your usb wifi adapter.
