Here is a lovely heirloom sunflower. Plant sunflowers to feed the birds and other wildlife, or to attract beneficial honeybees to the vegetable garden. Of course, you can just plant them because they are beautiful! They are deer and rodent resistant. They are quite drought tolerant, and very little care is needed. I believe the "strong shall survive" in my garden.
