Description

The listing, VERY OLD WOODEN FISHING LURE has ended.

Another priceless bit of Antiquity courtesy of my wandering Grandfather, Honorious.
I believe this wonderful old Lure, was from his time visiting the Great Lakes region. Yep, he was a Fisherman too!
Since he was blessed with 6 Daughters, he often would get the "Call of the Wild" & disappear for weeks, sometimes months, at a time, in order to do "Manly" things that he never got to do at home. Thus, we find him Fishing in the rough, Lake Michigan waters, after some Pike. They put up a Great fight & that's just what Grandpa Honorious wanted.

His lure of choice, on this day was a wooden, Paw Paw.
Treble Hook, & he knew how to use it.
It has 3 , 3 pronged hooks & a diving "spoon" at the mouth area. It measures 5.25" long , with a tapered body. & about an inch at it's widest part.
There are nicks & crazing on the body & the tack eyes have been bitten by many fish teeth, to be sure~~ I approximate it's age to be pre- 1940's.

Please look at all the photos & ask any questions prior to bidding. All Listia rules apply & I only ship to Listia verified addresses.

Shipping, with Tracking, is FREE!!

Chris, It's a Paw Paw lure, circa 1930's you can tell by the tack eyes. Prior to it getting chomped on by many a Pike & Muskie, the eyes were painted.

Chris, Paw Paw lures were made by the Moonlight Bait Co, later known as the Paw Paw Bait Co, This Paw Paw lure has a classic white body(used to, anyway) & red hood, & tack eyes, it's circa, 1930's
similar to a Dreadnaught but longer. This is a rare "groove face" model.
